The practice of praying novenas originates in the Holy Scriptures. Between Jesus' ascension to heaven and Pentecost, ie the descent of the Holy Spirit, they have passed nine days. The Christian community was gathered in prayer with Mary, some women and the apostles. It was the first Christian novena called Pentecost Novena. It is repeated every year, when we pray in a special way, for the unity of Christians. It is the standard of all the other novenas.
