This app mandatory requires to run background location to track your lost phone. Once you install this app in your phone, it takes a permission from you to allow/disallow this location permission. If you allow the permission, then background location service will be started. While using this background location you can track your lost phone if its lost. The only purpose to ask permission of this background location from you can track your lost phone. In case you don’t allow this background permission then application will be closed and you will not be able to track or find your lost phone.
