DSYA Kerala

A technology platform setup to monitor the drills performed and skill assessment of DSYA School athletes. This would allow to build a comprehensive data base of athletes and build their profiles with their achievements in various tournaments at all levels. This foundation will help in the development of athletes at grass root level from training and various ways of appreciating the progress & achievements.

The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs was established in the year 1986 for the promotion and development of Sports & Games in the State of Kerala. Its objectives include development of sporting activity at the grass root level itself thereby ensuring mass participation and national and international laurels for sporting excellence.

Kerala is the 1st state to enact a law in sports, the 1st state to integrate sports into the educational curriculum, the 1st state to appoint a Sports Commission, the 1st to grant permission to local self governments to utilize plan funds for establishing sports infrastructure and the 1st to have a democratically elected Sports Council.

The alarming projection made out in the world health statistics where in Kerala would become the diabetic and heart disease capital of India by the year 2030 has prompted the state to adopt a policy of 'Sports for All, Health for All'. The unique programme of integration of Sports into the educational curriculum will benefit the too pronged strategy of the state in encouraging budding sports persons and having a healthy future generation.
